Higher quality for single wagon traffic

Trenitalia has begun a radical process of reconstruction of its single wagon offering, with the aim of reorganizing this transport system in order to further increase reliability and efficiency, the way many other European operators are doing.

For this type of traffic a new offering has been defined and the traffic shall be concentrated only to specific stations.

From the 1st of April the new single wagon offering is structured thus:
Trains for Universal Service, created through Public support, to reach some of our Logistic Platforms (Bicocca and Catania Acquicella, Bari, Cosenza, Marcianise and Pescara) where it is possible to offer, on demand, alternative solutions to reach final destinations, also by road terminalisation;
New direct intenational services;
Specific services dedicated to certain market sectors such as, for example, steel and rail equipment, conceived for the definite needs of such clients.
Dedicated services for rail transport operators, especially wagon owners, for the repositioning of empty wagons and their transport to repair shops.

Trenitalia is available, upon client’s request, to design other solutions .
